Private Pilot CourseThe Private Pilot certificate is your first step into the world of aviation. As a private pilot you may fly an aircraft for pleasure, day or night, and you may invite your friends to join you. Many people choose to become private pilots to enjoy easy weekend getaways, to unwind with a relaxing flight after work, to go sightseeing, or just to experience the sheer pleasure of flight. For a pilot, the sky's the limit. Obtaining your Private Pilot's certificate is straightforward and a lot of fun. Flying is an acquired skill, similar to driving a car or sailing a boat. Like all such endeavors, practice makes perfect. And when you take off for the first time as a pilot in command with your newly earned Private Pilot's certificate you'll experience a sense of accomplishment that will be hard to beat. Course OutlineGround Instruction (20 Hours)Ground Instruction is broken into half an hour blocks preceding each flight lesson. The ground instruction will prepare you for the written test. Here are a few of the subjects covered:
Flight Instruction (45 Hours)Actual training that will take place in the aircraft. 25 of those hours are with an instructor and 20 are solo practicing what you have learned. 25 Hours Dual
20 Hours Solo
When your training is complete you will be signed off to take your practical test. It is given by a FAA designated examiner and consists of an oral and flight test. They normally take about 2 hours. Your Private Pilots Certificate will be with you for a lifetime. Course cost: $1700.00 Course fee does not include: FAA exam fee, 3rd class medical, aircraft time. |
